VEHICLE COMMUNICATION SYSTEMS METHODS AND APPLICATIONS

The growing population and the resulting increase in traffic congestion are remarkable factors. Considering the increasing traffic density, Intelligent Transportation Systems (AUS), developed to avoid possible accidents and increase safe driving ability, gains importance every day. The purpose of smart transportation systems can be defined as achieving high traffic safety, the efficiency of transportation and travel comfort, and contributing to ecological protection through communication between roads and vehicles using the latest communication technologies. Communication technologies for vehicle-to-vehicle, communication for vehicle-to-infrastructure, and communication technologies for vehicle-to-everything aim to include communication models that can be used by vehicles in various application contexts. The infrastructure that results is a temporary network whose nodes comprise not only instruments but also all mobile devices with wireless modules. Communication between multiple connected devices is achieved through the adoption of acceptable communication protocols. In this way, an elderly or disabled individual walking on the road outside the vehicles will be able to benefit from the benefits of this system. In this study, we talked about smart transportation systems, communication types between vehicles, methods, and standards used to communicate with each other, when smart transportation systems started to be used in our country, the development process, and which technologies and standards are currently used. The analysis written in this study aims to analyze and evaluate the technologies, software, and communication protocols that are most important to differentiate between potential road infrastructures to be used by vehicles.
