REAL-FAKE JEAN & PROCESS DESIGN

In denim production, it is aimed to imitate the final image of wet processes and dry processes, which require a great deal of time and raw materials, by using laser technologies, thus saving time and costs from the material and obtaining safer, low-cost value-added products. Within the scope of the project, the stitched parts of the product were reduced, and some of the sewing images and washing details and most of the worn appearances were made with laser burning. Thus, a production line can be modeled, which will reduce the cost of sewing by shortening the sewing time, reduce the washing operations to the level of no and make standard products in series. The concept of fast fashion is a concept arising from the upper textile products and means developing products that change rapidly and can adapt to fashion very quickly. The denim industry cannot meet this need for speed due to its structure, and the classical production process is both cumbersome and costly compared to other groups. With this project, which will be developed as a prototype, the foundation of a new production model in the production of denim trousers has been laid and the aim of developing products that are easy to produce and less costly that can meet the needs of fast fashion. Instead of the product flow, all parts of which are cut and sewn in the classical production line, then finalized with wet and dry processes, and finally finished. Products in which detailed parts are reduced (cut in the form of panels) are designed to be sewn in half (reduced preparation steps). Particularly, parts of the products such as pockets, watch pockets, gaskets, belts were cut as separate parts, not cut as panels, and the parts were assembled together. Bleaching, attrition, scarring, and effect appearances to be obtained as a result of wet and dry processes and traces of parts (pocket, watch pocket, yoke, gasket) are imitated by laser burning, and shortening of approximately 10 processes has been made. At the same time, this is an improvement that can bring with it the advantage that costs can be reduced by 80% and time is reduced by 60 - 90% on average. The products whose laser process is completed can be brought to the finishing stage after a simple wash. With the products to be created as a result of design and collection, it is aimed to shorten the production time by 40% in cutting and sewing operations, by 90% in washing operations, and to reduce labor costs by 80%. While it is aimed to make a 10% reduction operation over the total cost of the product, it is aimed to develop a more controlled process in terms of quality.
