A PROGRAMMABLE SYSTEM ON CHIP IMPLEMENTATION OF SECOND GENERATION CURRENT CONVEYOR

The second-generation current conveyor (CCII), offered by Sedra and Smith, is commonly used in filters and oscillators. Current sourcing (CCII+), as well as sinking (CCII-) current conveyors, are available in the literature. This study presents the complete analysis and system on chip implementation for the basic building block of analog current-mode circuits, namely second-generation current conveyor. A comparison has been given between simulation and experimental results. Simulations are performed on the PSPICE environment, whereas the system-on-chip implementation of the proposed current conveyor is done on the PSoC 5LP prototyping kit. The PSoC 5LP prototyping kit is designed as an easy-to-use and inexpensive prototyping platform. The PSoC 5LP Prototyping Kit supports the PSoC 5LP device family, delivering a complete system solution for a wide range of embedded applications at a very low cost. Opamps in the proposed circuit are biased symmetrically with 5V power supply. The input DC voltage Vin is swept from 0V to 5V. It has been observed that experimental and simulation results are well matching, and the PSoC prototyping kit provides a low-cost alternative to device samples while providing a platform to develop and integrate to end-system easily. The circuit presented here can be used for different purposes, such as analog signal compression, biomedical signal processing, or signal filtering in various instrumentation units.
