SYNTHESIS GASES PRODUCTION FROM WASTE TIRES

Automobile production increases with customer demands. At the same time, waste tire amount increases based on population and production day by day. So that, waste management is essential for tires. The aim of this study is to modelling of decomposition, pyrolysis and gasification for producing final products (H2, CO2, CO, CH4) by using Aspen Plus. Process designs for fixed and fluidized bed gasifier are done, respectively. Developed models are tested and validated with literatures. The results were in good agreement. Additionally, syngas composition versus air flow rate and syngas composition versus temperature figures for fixed bed gasifier and fluidized bed gasifier are drawn and compared with literatures. According to sensitivity results of the developed models, fixed bed gasifier model gives closer results to literature than fluidized bed gasifier model. For fixed bed gasifier, CO and H2 decrease, CO2 increases and CH4 is constant with increasing air flow rates which changes between 2.302 and 6.906. CO increases, H2 and CO2 decreases and CH4 is constant with increasing temperatures between 490 0C and 1400 0C. For fluidized bed gasifier, CO, H2 and CO2 increases and CH4 is constant with increasing air flow rate between 1.9175 and 2.5311. CO and H2 increase and CO2 and CH4 decrease with increasing temperatures between 500 0C and 900 0C.
