Since construction projects are one-time ventures and sophisticated by their nature, they are prone to conflicts. Ineffective conflict management - which is one of the most common drawbacks in the construction industry - can turn into a dispute over time. The dispute is deemed a significant issue that undermines the productivity and performance of the whole construction industry; therefore, it should be settled in a timely manner. Since litigation has a very lengthy and costly process, Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) process has come into prominence for decades. Therefore, investigation of the ADR process is very vital for the sake of the construction industry in terms of achieving predetermined benefits from the projects. Hence, in this study, ADR methods were elaborated from the experts’ points of view by conducting an FGD session with the 15 experts to detect the most appropriate ADR methods for airport projects. It was highlighted that referring the ADR methods instead of lawsuits in the construction contract has a high potential to settle the dispute in a timely manner with a less amount of cost. It is highly believed that this study will pave way for the development of the dispute resolution process in the construction industry by involving the experts' opinions.
